Remote Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (Senior, AWS/K8s, Logistics, LATAM)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION::
Our TMS (Transportation Management System) simplifies and centralizes the management of freight transportation within a single software platform to save time and money for shippers, 3PLs, brokers, and carriers around the world. The platform supports all modes of transport including ocean, air, rail, truckload, LTL, last mile, parcel, and intermodal to give you visibility to every shipment, automate manual processes, and make smarter decisions based on delivery performance. Migration from VMs to AWS.

The Cloud Infrastructure Engineer will deliver mission-critical technology SaaS products to our customers. Work as part of a team designing, automating, and developing cloud solutions for our customers in the public cloud.

PROJECT STACK and TEAM::

Daily stand-ups around 9-10 am EST

The interview process will contain two interviews:

  • 2 x Technical interviews – 0.5hr with a Project Lead and 1hr with a Cloud architect.

What equipment is needed? MAC, PC, Tools, Software?

8GB RAM is enough
16GB RAM would be better

MAIN REQUIREMENTS::
  • Top. Terraform, Packer, EKS/Kubernetes/Helm. We’ll be looking for true subject matter experts in these areas

  • Medium. Ansible, Jenkins, Monitoring/Alerting tools in general

  • Nice to have. Grafana, Prometheus, Elastic, APM

    So for this position, we are really looking for a subject matter expert to come in and help lead us where we need to go. Someone who can help design and implement cloud infrastructure solutions and help mentor our team in new technology areas for us

  • Bachelor’s degree (in Computer Science, Math or Engineering)
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience in the IT/Software industry
  • 3+ years of experience designing and supporting public cloud environments, including IaaS, PaaS and SaaS, public/hybrid/private cloud solutions
  • Experience of AWS services
  • Experience in DevOps, Automation, and Orchestration
  • Configuration Management and Infrastructure as Code (e.g. CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
  • Must be able to work independently and can exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts and influence decisions across multiple levels of the audience, both technical and executive
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to the constant change of the cloud platforms and multiple work streams
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with an understanding of IT operations
  • Demonstrable experience deploying and supporting enterprise workloads to AWS
GOOD TO HAVE::
  • AWS certifications
  • Experience with Azure services
  • Experience implementing containerized (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS) solutions
  • Experience in Continuous Delivery pipelines using tools like AWS CodePipeline / Azure DevOps / Jenkins
  • Experience with the ELK stack
  • Good knowledge of authentication and authorization
  • Good knowledge of public cloud security practices
  • Proficiency with Python or other scripting languages
  • Hands-on experience with configuration management systems such as Ansible
  • Business Continuity or Disaster Recovery planning experience is a plus
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES::
  • Writing infrastructure as code
  • Design automated deployments using a DevOps approach
  • Build according to the highly available infrastructure needed for our products
  • Working closely with development to deploy released, patches, and improvements to the product
  • Manage and monitor the cloud infrastructure performance
  • Deliver quality work in an agile delivery model in a team environment
