Remote Senior Scrum Master / Agile Coach (LATAM, Middleware & Data Engineering) ##26583

Both teams currently use a basic Kanban approach due to a lack of dedicated Agile leadership. Upon joining, you will evaluate each team individually to determine whether maintaining an optimized Kanban flow or transitioning to Scrum (or a hybrid) is best suited to their workload and delivery needs. Because these two teams have minimal technical dependencies, you will run two separate, dedicated sets of ceremonies tailored to each team's cadence. Our organization relies on time-based estimation (hours) rather than story points to streamline delivery date forecasting—you will be expected to optimize, maintain, and report on this model.

Location: LATAM

Experience: 6+ years as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach in technical environments (middleware, backend infrastructure, data engineering, or cloud databases).
Framework Assessment: Demonstrated expertise in evaluating technical team workflows and determining the right framework choice (Kanban vs. Scrum vs. Scrumban) rather than imposing a single rigid methodology.
Direct Reporting Line: Experience working directly under engineering leadership (Director level or above) to align delivery operations with high-level engineering goals.
Reporting & Metrics: Deep proficiency in time-based estimation (hours-based tracking), capacity planning, and generating burndown/burnup charts in Jira.
Jira Mastery: Advanced skills with Jira dashboard creation, custom fields, JQL queries, and Fix Version management.
PO Enablement: Proven history of educating non-traditional Product Owners (e.g., BAs and Data Analysts) on key Agile artifacts and ownership responsibilities.

• Team Evaluation & Agile Maturity: Assess each team’s current workflow independently to evaluate whether to evolve their existing Kanban framework or transition to Scrum based on their operational demands.

• Parallel Ceremony Facilitation: Facilitate separate, dedicated Agile ceremonies (Daily Standups, Backlog Refinement, Planning, Retrospectives, Demos) for both the Middleware and Data Engineering teams independently.

• Product Owner Mentorship: Train and coach our newly appointed Product Owners (a Business Analyst on Middleware and a Data Analyst on Data Engineering) on backlog grooming, epic/story drafting, acceptance criteria, and prioritization.

• Hourly Estimation & Velocity Tracking: Enforce and refine team estimation practices based on effort hours to accurately project release dates, establish team capacity, and track burn charts.

• Leadership Reporting: Leverage Jira to build dashboards, burndown charts, and progress reports, delivering clear progress and capacity updates directly to the Director of Engineering and senior leadership.

• Jira & Version Management: Set up and maintain Jira boards, workflows, components, and Fix Versions to ensure transparent tracking of releases and deliverables.
