PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

We’re a multi-disciplined team, bringing together expertise in software and data engineering, full stack development, platform operations, algorithm research, and data science. Our squads focus on delivering high-impact features – we favour a highly iterative, analytical approach.

We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Full-stack) to join our Development team.

PROJECT STACK and TEAM:

We exist to enhance the experience of brokers and clients by saving them time and eliminating the friction and cost and it takes to place risk at Lloyd’s of London. We empower brokers with instant underwriting decisions, anytime, anywhere.
Our proprietary algorithm that underwrites risk, used in conjunction with the latest machine learning technology, enables us to make faster more informed decisions.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS:

  • Strong in a semi-mainstream programming language (e.g. Python, Typescript, Rust, Go, etc)

  • Proficient with frontend/GUI framework

  • Good understanding of data processing, API design/integration, and system architecture

  • Comfortable adopting new tools and technologies as needed — adaptability is more important than narrow specialisation

Project Context

  • Core focus on agentic orchestration (e.g. LangGraph)

  • Ideally has hands-on experience with LangGraph, LangChain, or similar frameworks

  • Otherwise, can demonstrate the ability to learn and apply these rapidly

  • Domain curiosity — interest in or willingness to understand insurance systems and workflows is an advantage

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Build robust and scalable software for business critical, web-based applications

  • Build eye-catching, functional, efficient, and reusable web and mobile-based sites that drive these web applications

  • Design, build, test, document and maintain APIs and integrations

  • Ensure quality control using industry standard techniques such as automated testing, pairing, and code review

  • Work with the Product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into an effective technical solution

  • Document technical design and analysis work Assess current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement

  • Build mock-ups or prototypes to explore and troubleshoot new initiatives

  • Work with the Product team and UX designers to review designs, implement new features, and ensure user experience is top level

  • Explore new ideas and emerging technologies, develop prototypes quickly

  • Uphold the engineering team’s principles and ways of working
