- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Kubernetes Expertise: Proven experience managing Kubernetes clusters, including scaling, networking, and security.
- AWS Proficiency: Strong hands-on experience with AWS services, including EKS, GuardDuty, WAF, IAM, and CloudTrail.
- Security Knowledge: Familiarity with security tools like Trivy, Falco, or Aqua Security, and a deep understanding of DevSecOps principles.
- Automation and Scripting: Expertise in automating tasks using Python, Bash, or other scripting languages.
- Infrastructure as Code: Experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools.
- CI/CD: Experience with tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or ArgoCD.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Certification in Kubernetes (e.g., CKAD, CKA) or AWS (e.g., AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Certified Solutions Architect).
- Experience with multi-cloud or hybrid cloud setups.
- Knowledge of service mesh technologies like Istio or Linkerd.
- Expertise in cost optimization strategies for cloud infrastructure.
Kubernetes Management:
- Design, deploy, and maintain production-grade Kubernetes clusters (EKS preferred).
- Implement auto-scaling solutions such as Horizontal Pod Autoscalers (HPA), Vertical Pod Autoscalers (VPA), and Cluster Autoscalers.
- Develop Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, or other templates for application deployment.
Dynamic Scaling:
- Architect and implement scaling policies using Kubernetes and AWS services like Auto Scaling Groups and CloudWatch.
- Analyse workload performance to optimize resource allocation and cost efficiency.
- Test and validate scaling strategies under varying traffic conditions.
AWS Security and GuardDuty:
- Integrate and manage AWS GuardDuty for threat detection and response in the cloud environment.
- Set up and maintain IAM policies, role-based access controls (RBAC), and network policies for Kubernetes clusters.
- Implement AWS WAF, Shield, and security best practices for DDoS protection and vulnerability mitigation.
- Automate compliance and auditing processes using AWS security tools like AWS Config and CloudTrail.
Security Best Practices for Kubernetes:
- Harden Kubernetes clusters by implementing network policies, pod security standards, and image scanning tools like Trivy or Aqua.
- Secure communication channels with TLS and manage secrets using Kubernetes Secrets, AWS Secrets Manager, or HashiCorp Vault.
- Regularly perform security audits, including vulnerability assessments and penetration testing.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC):
- Use tools like Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, or Pulumi to automate the provisioning of secure Kubernetes and AWS infrastructure.
- Maintain and improve CI/CD pipelines with built-in security checks.
Monitoring and Incident Response:
- Implement robust monitoring solutions using Prometheus, Grafana, or AWS CloudWatch.
- Set up alerting mechanisms for potential threats and system anomalies.
- Develop incident response plans and participate in post-incident reviews to improve systems.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Work closely with DevOps, security, and development teams to ensure security and scalability goals align with business needs.
Provide documentation and training on Kubernetes security and AWS security tools.
