PROJECT DESCRIPTION::
Our TMS (Transportation Management System) simplifies and centralizes the management of freight transportation within a single software platform to save time and money for shippers, 3PLs, brokers, and carriers around the world. The platform supports all modes of transport including ocean, air, rail, truckload, LTL, last mile, parcel, and intermodal to give you visibility to every shipment, automate manual processes, and make smarter decisions based on delivery performance. Migration from VMs to AWS.
PROJECT STACK and TEAM::
- As a Cloud Engineer, you will work closely with solutions architects and business stakeholders to identify, design, develop and deploy infrastructure engineering solutions for our TMS platform. Qualified candidates will have exposure to supporting production customer environments and an eagerness to learn and grow.
- Team members are mostly in North Carolina, the USA, and LATAM countries. EST business hours preferable.
- Daily stand-ups around 9-10 am EST.
MAIN REQUIREMENTS::
- 5+ years in an operations role
- 5+ years supporting large scale Linux/Java applications
- 5+ years in supporting AWS based environments
- Hands-on experience managing and implementing Kubernetes solutions
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code principals and technologies (Terraform)
- Wide range of automation experience (Jenkins, Ansible, PowerShell, Groovy, Python, etc)
- Hands-on experience collecting performance data, analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning
- Well versed in application containers such as Tomcat
- Full stack troubleshooting
- Experience with SCM (Git)
GOOD TO HAVE::
- Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and related work experience
- Multi-cloud experience including Azure and OCI
- Windows administration experience
- Experience managing .NET applications and IIS servers
- Hands on Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana, Prometheus, Grafana experience
- Experience managing Helm templated Kubernetes environments
- Understanding of micro-service architectures particularly with the Spring Boot framework
- Experience with usage of common application protocols and messages (e.g. TCP/IP, HTTP, SOAP, SMTP, RESTful APIs, XML/JSON, JDBC, JMS/MQ)
- Exposure to application threading and concurrency concerns. Troubleshooting environment related issues (response times, connectivity, authentication, authorization, configuration, etc.)
- Experience in hosted global datacenter environments supporting geographically dispersed systems
- Experience supporting multiple compute platforms (distributed/tiered architecture, AWS, bare metal, virtualization (VMWARE))
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES::
- Monitoring and optimizing database performance, security, encryption, backup, and recovery.
- Plan and implement database backup strategies and perform database recovery testing based on predetermined intervals.
- Participate in developer meetings to support database model changes and/or enhancements based on the Agile Development Methodology
- Troubleshooting and resolving database issues and incidents.
- Developing and implementing database policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborating with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure database availability, reliability, and scalability.
- Datawarehouse architecture, design strategy for performance and optimization
