Controls Engineer (C / C++, Logistics, Retail, LATAM, EU)

PROJECT DESCRIPTION::

Our company is a full-service controls engineering firm with a diverse range of expertise that spans from eCommerce to heavy manufacturing. Our team is composed of seasoned engineers, who have previously worked for leading corporations such as Amazon, FedEx, Tyson Foods, and Walmart.

PROJECT STACK and TEAM::

We are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer with experience in control system design, control panel engineering, PLC, HMI, and robot programming, and site start-up support of MHE and Automation equipment for the material handling, manufacturing, and logistics industries. Ideal candidates will have a passion for leading projects and teams.

MAIN REQUIREMENTS::
  • knowledge of C / C++ programming language;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to interact with all levels of management, clients, and vendors. Contractor management skills are also a plus.
  • Able to simultaneously organize and successfully execute multiple project responsibilities.
  • Familiarity with either Rockwell or Siemens PLCs.
GOOD TO HAVE::

 

  • Requires excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to be applied in design, programming, and troubleshooting of packaging machinery and line control systems as well as specific experience with Allen-Bradley (ControlLogix) and PanelView Plus HMI’s, Industrial Communications Networks (EthernetIP, ASI, Profibus, and Profinet), Kinetix Servo Drives and VFDs. Siemens S7 PLC’s is a plus.
  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or equivalent technical degree (i.e., AAS).
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of experience will be considered in lieu of Degree.
  • Minimum of 5-10 years of relevant electrical engineering experience with PLC and robotic automation applications.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience working specifically in the material handling industry.
  • Experience managing multiple, large projects simultaneously (between 5,000-10,000 hours).
  • Familiarity with electro-mechanical integration of motors and motor controllers, actuators, and power supplies.
  • Familiarity with control panel design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Microsoft VisualStudio is a plus.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES::
  • Leads and motivates team, ensuring top performance standards are upheld while meeting project deadlines.
  • Identifies and resolves complex problems.
  • Maintains effective communication with Control Manager and Project Management Team to ensure project is on track, and re-asses and adjust as needed.
  • Proactively identifies project risks and barriers and implements contingency plans where needed.
  • Makes recommendations for ideas related to productivity improvement, cost reduction, and improvement in customer satisfaction.
  • Leads system commissioning.
