Remote Sr.Full-stack Engineer (Python & React (70/30%) with Kotlin/Java, Europe)

We’re looking for a Senior Full-stack Engineer to join our Development team.

This project team, primarily based in London, UK, collaborates during regular working hours to develop and deploy a personalized content recommendation system. The team leverages technologies like Python machine learning, React/Typescript, HTML/CSS, Maven, Git/Github to deliver a high-quality solution meeting user requirements and industry standards.

• Frontend Development (React/Typescript):  Implementing user interface components using React and Typescript, ensuring responsiveness and accessibility.
• Backend Development (Python Machine Learning):  Developing machine learning algorithms for content recommendation, integrating them into the backend system.
• UI/UX Design (HTML/CSS):  Designing and prototyping user interfaces using HTML and CSS, ensuring intuitive and visually appealing designs.
• Build and Deployment (Maven, Git/Github):  Managing project dependencies and build processes using Maven, implementing version control and CI/CD pipelines using Git/Github.
• Integration and Microservices (C#/.NET):  Developing backend services and APIs using C# and .NET, ensuring seamless integration with frontend components and thorough testing.

Availability: 8am to 6pm (London Time)

Experience as a Senior level engineer working across a modern web stack
• Strong software engineering principles (SOLID, DRY, ER modelling)
• Professional experience with a server-side language, ideally JVM based (Python, FastAPI, SQLAlchemy)
• Professional experience building web-based single page applications, using React/Typescript or an equivalent
• Knowledge of front-end development, able to build rich user interfaces following a responsive design
• HTML/CSS experience, including concepts like layout, specificity, cross browser compatibility, and accessibility
• Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Provider), infrastructure as code, familiar with standard logging and monitoring tools used to investigate issues
• Experience with continuous integration, or ideally, continuous delivery
• Strong familiarity with build tools (e.g. Maven) and version control tools (e.g. Git/Github)
• Experience working in agile teams, following Scrum or Kanban, participating in regular ceremonies including stand-ups, planning, and retrospectives
• Experience using project management and workflow tools (e.g. Jira)
• Previous experience of software development in the financial markets, Fintech or Insurtech is
preferable

Build robust and scalable software for business critical, web-based applications
• Build eye-catching, functional, efficient, and reusable web and mobile-based sites that drive these web applications
• Design, build, test, document and maintain API’s and integrations
• Ensure quality control using industry standard techniques such as automated testing, pairing, and code review
• Work with the Product team to understand end-user requirements and translate them into an effective technical solution
• Document technical design and analysis work
• Assess current system architecture and identify opportunities for growth and improvement
• Build mock-ups or prototypes to explore and troubleshoot new initiatives
• Work with the Product team and UX designers to review designs, implement new features, and ensure user experience is top level
• Explore new ideas and emerging technologies, develop prototypes quickly
• Uphold and advance the engineering team’s principles and ways of working
• Serve as a domain expert for one or more of Ki’s core technologies
• Mentor and coach colleagues in both engineering and business domain subjects
